The most impressive career could hide the darkest of stories. Lolo, who won the USA and the World Championships for hurdle events in 2013, only reached this position by putting in a lot of hard work and a lot of patience. Born to a single mother within a household of five children, Jones had a difficult and impoverished childhood. Her mother and she lived in the basement of a church, and was constantly moving around. Jones had to be moved to a different school each throughout her senior year because of this nomadic existence. Jones left her mother and moved to Theodore Roosevelt so that her to pursue her interest in track. Jones was part of four families throughout her time at high school to study in one place. Jones, a cellist in the school's orchestra and recipient of Gatorade the track and field athlete of the year won her the Gatorade Iowa Athlete award at the end of her high school career. Jones started her professional career at the college level as one of the top hurdlers....
